Peter Scott – Co-Driver

Peter’s BRC history goes back a very long way – to 1972. In 1974 he co-drove Billy Coleman in the works backed Mk1 Escort on many of the events in Billy’s Championship winning year including winning the Texaco Rally, predecessor of the Ulster.

Peter also rallied with Billy in the exotic Lancia Stratos and among the well over 100 other drivers Peter has sat with are the Irish legends Ronnie and Dessie McCartney and Cathal Curley in numerous Porsches – (winning the first Donegal Rally with Curley), Robin Eyre-Maunsell in the works Imp and Avenger and more recently winning Killarney with Steve Perez in a Porsche.

For the last few years Peter has also turned to the driving seat, putting up some noticeable performances in a Cortina GT in the BHRC, and in 2009 is competing in the MSA British Rally Championship with Luke Pinder in a Suzuki Swift, as well as driving in the BTRDA Rally First series in the unusual Daihatsu Sirion. He also spent a period as Clerk of the Course of the Ulster Rally in the early eighties.

Though originally from Northern Ireland, Peter has lived in Leeds for over 25 years. He is a restaurateur and owns the renowned BRETTS Fish Restaurant in Headingley, close to the cricket and rugby stadium.
